Terms and Conditions of Sale and Installation

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all sales of products and services by StockCam (“we”, “us”, “our”) to any customer (“you”, “your”). By placing an order, paying a deposit, or accepting delivery or installation of any StockCam products, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
1.1 “Products” – Any equipment supplied by StockCam, including but not limited to security cameras, livestock cameras, networking equipment, network video recorders, alarm systems, door entry/access‑control systems, mounting hardware, power equipment, and accessories.
1.2 “Installation Services” – Any installation, setup, configuration, or related work carried out by StockCam.
1.3 “Self‑Install Package” – Products supplied for installation by the customer.
1.4 “Order” – Any request for products or services accepted by StockCam.
2. Ownership of Products
2.1 All products remain the property of StockCam until full payment is received.
2.2 Payment of a deposit does not transfer ownership.
2.3 Until ownership transfers, you agree that:

2.5 Products must not be sold, transferred, or used as security.
2.6 StockCam may recover products if payment is not completed.
2.7 StockCam may remotely disable or block access to products prior to recovery in cases of non‑payment or breach of these Terms.
2.8 Remote blocking does not remove your obligation to pay any outstanding balance.
2.9 Remote blocking will disable the usability of the products but will not delete footage or damage equipment.”
3. Orders, Deposits & Payment Terms
3.1 Estimated installation prices include standard labour and materials to the extent described in the estimate. Additional materials or labour required due to unforeseen site conditions, customer changes, or inadequate infrastructure (power, network, Wi‑Fi) will be chargeable
3.2 A 75% deposit is required for installation bookings.
3.3 Deposits are taken to secure the booking and are partially non‑refundable in cases where the customer is unable to proceed due to third‑party disputes or funding disagreements, ordinarily equivalent to 20% of the total system invoice.
3.4 The remaining 25% balance is due 48 hours after installation.
3.5 Self‑install packages require 100% payment before dispatch.
3.6 Late or non‑payment may result in suspension of services, remote blocking, or recovery of products.
3.7 Invoices will be sent through QuickBooks. You are responsible for checking your junk/spam folders to ensure receipt of all communications.
4. Joint and Several Liability
4.1 Where products or services are supplied to a property that is rented, leased, shared, or occupied by multiple parties, all parties benefiting from the installation may be held jointly and severally liable for payment.
4.2 StockCam reserves the right to recover any outstanding balance from any party who has authorised, approved, requested, or benefited from the installation.
5. Delivery & Installation
5.1 Delivery and installation dates are estimates only.
5.2 You must ensure safe access, adequate power, internet availability, and appropriate animal management.
5.3 Additional costs apply if installation cannot proceed due to site conditions or customer unavailability.
5.4 StockCam does not guarantee complete camera coverage of all areas unless explicitly specified in writing
6. Scope of Work
6.1 StockCam will install equipment in accordance with the agreed order and standard industry practice. Any additional work requested on the day may be chargeable
7. Customer Responsibilities
7.1 You must provide accurate and complete information regarding your site, installation requirements, and intended use of the products.
7.2 You must maintain adequate broadband, Wi‑Fi coverage, and power supply to ensure the products function correctly.
7.3 If adequate power or network infrastructure is not available at the time of installation, StockCam may reschedule or charge for additional labour
7.4 You must ensure that all equipment is protected from damage, obstruction, livestock interference, weather exposure, and unauthorised access.
7.5 You must comply with all legal obligations relating to the use of CCTV systems, including but not limited to installing appropriate CCTV signage and informing individuals that recording is taking place.
7.6 You must keep all login credentials, passwords, and access details secure and must not share them with unauthorised persons.
7.7 You are responsible for registering with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) where required. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Registering as a data controller if you use CCTV for business purposes
• Paying the applicable ICO data‑protection fee
• Ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
• Managing data‑subject rights, including access, erasure, and retention policies
7.8 StockCam is not responsible for your legal obligations as a data controller, nor for any fines, penalties, or enforcement action resulting from failure to register with the ICO or comply with data‑protection law.
7.9 You are responsible for ensuring that your use of CCTV is lawful, proportionate, and compliant with all relevant regulations, including the handling, storage, and deletion of recorded footage.
7.10 The customer is solely responsible for managing footage retention periods, exporting footage, and creating backups where needed
7.11 You must notify StockCam of any changes to your network, internet provider, router, or site layout that may affect system performance. Any reconfiguration required due to such changes is chargeable at StockCam’s standard rates.
7.12 You are responsible for ensuring that all equipment remains powered on. Any loss of access caused by equipment being switched off is the customer’s responsibility
7.13 StockCam may charge for any access recovery where the customer has lost or changed passwords, login details, or security settings, resulting in being locked out of the system.
8. Product Warranty
8.1 Warranty claims require a diagnostic assessment by StockCam. If the fault is not covered under warranty, standard call‑out and labour rates apply
8.2 Hikvision cameras: 2 years
8.3 Hikvision NVR: 1 year
8.4 Ubiquiti products: 1 year
8.5 Other brands: manufacturer warranty
Warranty excludes:
8.6 Livestock damage
8.7 Weather damage
8.8 Misuse
8.9 Incorrect installation (for self‑installs)
8.10 Power surges
8.11 Damage to memory cards
8.12 Cosmetic damage
Call-outs not covered by warranty
8.13 Labour and call‑outs may be chargeable.
9. Support & Maintenance
9.1 StockCam provides support for products supplied and installed by StockCam, or supplied as part of a self‑install package.
9.2 Support may be refused if:
• Equipment has been altered, modified, or tampered with
• Equipment has been incorrectly installed as part of a self‑install package
• Non‑StockCam equipment interferes with system performance
• Payments are outstanding or overdue
9.3 StockCam offers annual service contracts to ensure systems remain up to date, secure, and compliant. These may include:
• Firmware updates
• Configuration checks and updates
• System health checks
• Remote diagnostics
• Priority support
9.4 Customers without an active service contract may be charged for firmware updates, configuration changes, or system maintenance.
9.5 Customers with an active service contract may be eligible for an extended warranty of up to three years on Hikvision cameras, subject to the service agreement and manufacturer conditions.
9.6 StockCam is not responsible for system issues arising from:
• Customer‑initiated network changes
• ISP changes or router replacements
• Environmental or livestock damage
• Power failures or electrical faults
9.7 Any reconfiguration or remedial work required due to these issues is chargeable at StockCam’s standard rates.
10. Liability
StockCam is not liable for:
10.1 Loss of footage
10.2 Missed events
10.3 Internet or power failures
10.4 Environmental or livestock damage
10.5 Indirect or consequential losses
10.6 Liability is limited to the price paid for the products or services.
11. Returns & Cancellations
11.1 Custom kits, pre‑configured systems, and installed products are non‑returnable unless faulty.
11.2 In the event of cancellation, StockCam reserves the right to retain a portion of the deposit, ordinarily equivalent to 20% of the total system invoice.
12. Data Protection & CCTV Use
12.1 StockCam does not store footage unless explicitly requested for support.
12.2 You are responsible for CCTV signage, data‑protection compliance, and lawful use of recorded footage.
13. Termination
13.1 StockCam may terminate orders for non‑payment, breach of these Terms, or unsafe installation conditions.
13.2 Unsafe conditions include, but are not limited to: hazardous livestock behaviour, unstable ladders or access areas, aggressive animals, or unsafe electrical environments
14. Governing Law
14.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
14.2 For customers in Scotland or Northern Ireland, these Terms apply to the fullest extent permitted under those jurisdictions.
14.3 Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales unless otherwise required by law.
15. Amendments
15.1 StockCam may update these Terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your Order applies.
16. Right of Entry for Product Recovery
16.1 StockCam may recover products that remain its property.
16.2 You must provide reasonable access for recovery.
16.3 Notice will be given unless urgent recovery is required.
17. Late Payment & Interest
17.1 Interest is charged at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily.
17.2 Administrative and legal costs may be added.
17.3 StockCam may suspend services or block access until payment is made.
18. Remote Access & Software Use
18.1 You must comply with manufacturer software licences.
18.2 StockCam may require remote access for support or recovery.
18.3 StockCam is not responsible for:
18.4 Third‑party outages
18.5 Manufacturer restrictions
18.6 App changes
18.7 Customer network issues
18.8 Loss of access due to changing internet provider or router
18.9 Reconfiguration required due to such changes (chargeable)
18.10 Remote access tools must not be tampered with.
19. Security & Misuse
19.1 Products must be used lawfully.
19.2 Misuse includes tampering, reverse‑engineering, unlawful surveillance, or sharing credentials.
19.3 StockCam may suspend systems if misuse is suspected.
19.4 You indemnify StockCam for misuse‑related claims.
20. Call‑Out Fee Policy
20.1 Call‑out fees apply for on‑site visits.
20.2 Fees may include travel, labour, and parts.
20.3 Fees apply even if issues are caused by customer network changes, incorrect installation (self‑installs), or livestock damage.
21. Network Requirements Policy
21.1 You must provide a suitable network environment.
21.2 StockCam is not responsible for ISP or router issues.
21.3 StockCam is not responsible for performance issues caused by weak or unstable Wi‑Fi, even where Wi‑Fi appears functional for other devices.
21.4 Network changes requiring reconfiguration are chargeable.
21.5 Support may be refused if incompatible equipment is used.
22. Self‑Install Liability Disclaimer
22.1 You are responsible for correct installation of self‑install packages.
22.2 StockCam is not liable for damage caused by incorrect installation.
22.3 Support for incorrect installation is chargeable.
22.4 Warranty may be voided by improper installation.
23. Force Majeure
23.1 StockCam is not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, supply‑chain disruption, labour shortages, or third‑party service outages.
24. Entire Agreement
24.1 These Terms, together with any written quotation or order confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between StockCam and the customer. No verbal statements or promises are binding unless confirmed in writing.
